Babysitting

Kacia wants me to post about me babysitting for the first time, so here I am. I don't have any pictures or videos though, just words.
For those who suffer sleepiness while reading a lot of words, please exit this website now.....Come back I was just kidding!
......anyways......

About a week ago Jason and Nichole asked me to babysit Justin for them. It was my first time babysitting alone. When I got there he was still eating and I had to finish feeding him so Jason and Nichole could leave. I had those slippers that I got for Christmas on, they have strings with balls on them and Justin kept looking down from his highchair to look at my slippers.
After he ate I got him down and we played for a while. He likes to crawl a lot and I would get on the floor and crawl with him, and he would laugh and try to get away and would go behind his sister's toy box and hide.
And then I changed his diaper for the first time. Sorry Kacia, you wanted me to post about my first time babysitting so I assume you want me to go into detail, but I'm not going into detail about me changing diapers lol. Pass.
After he got changed I gave him a bottle. I thought he would be sleepy since it was around 10:30 pm, but towards the end of his bottle he was playing with it.
Then I brushed his teeth, and he loved it lol. I don't know why, he just likes to brush his teeth, which is a good habit though. Then I had to give him a fluoride pill and the lid was like impossible to get off! He was kinda just watching me probably thinking I'm weird cause I can't open a lid.
Finally I got it open and give him the pill.

He still had a lot of energy left so I played with him for about 15 minutes. Nichole said he had taken a two hour nap before I came, so he just wasn't tired even though it was around 2 hours past his bedtime. We went into his room and I sat on his sister's bed and put his pajamas on. His sister Stephanie has a net above her bed filled with stuffed animals, and he was standing on her bed while I got his pants on and he pulled on her stuffed animals and a couple of them fell down. One of them was a horse, and I took the horse and would get him with it. He would laugh a lot and scream and hit the horse lol.
After playing for a little while I thought he should go to bed because it was almost 11:30 pm and I wanted him to be sleeping by the time his parents came home. So I put him in his crib and stood there for a little while, then left the room and I didn't hear any noise at all so he was asleep. He fell asleep fast, within 10 minutes after I put him to bed. I guess from all that crawling it got him tired.
I got some ice cream and watched a movie until they came home. Yes, I stole their ice cream hehehehehe, except they told me I could have some so I didn't actually steal.
And that's the end of that babysitting story.

I did babysit for Bro. Aaron and Sis. Shannon last week too though. They went to an opry? I don't know the name cause I've never heard of that before. The whole time I thought they were going to an opera with a weird name such as opry. I was like, "they're going to an opera at the grange? Huh...that's random." My parents also went and so did Bro. Steve and Sis. Valerie. And I think Bryan and Stephanie were in the opry too, or just Bryan...I forget...but onto the babysitting story!

Carson was a lot easier to watch than Justin because he can't crawl and get into stuff. He just sits there and you play with him, how easy. He was a good boy too. When they left I was playing with Carson for a while on his blanket. After a while I put on a movie and he just sat there watching it. I played with him during the movie too, and then I noticed he was getting sleepy. So I paused the movie and changed his diaper. Then I got him into his pajamas and wrapped him up into a blanket. Wrapping him into a blanket sounded easier than actually doing it. He kept putting his arms up making it difficult to wrap him up. Good thing I'm not a mom yet because I learned that I can't open lids, and I can't wrap babies in blankets. But I can make them happy so I do alright as a babysitter.

After he was wrapped up I played the movie and gave him his bottle. He didn't drink all of it and was getting tired, so I tried to put him to sleep. He took a little while because he was kind of fussy, but eventually he calmed down and fell asleep in bed. It didn't take him too long to sleep after I put him to bed. So while he was sleeping I got on their computer and talked to Kara online till they came home. Then Bro. Aaron took me home.
So now you all know my babysitting skills.
Oh yeah, when I was at Jason and Nichole's babysitting Justin, when I was watching my movie after he fell asleep I was controlling the volume with this controller that they don't even use. Then the next day when I was home, my mom was talking to Jason on the phone and she told me that Jason said I'm fired because him and Nichole couldn't figure out how I controlled the volume at all, lol. I guess I'm too advanced or something.

One last thing. Today after church a lot of us did a big cleaning job on the downstairs at the grange, and towards the end of the cleaning me and Andrea were leaning against a counter, and then Matt came and leaned against it too and the counter moved back. We were like, "aghhhh! Matt!" He was laughing and was like, "what?? I didn't try to move the counter." It was funny~

Sooooo yeah....that's all. Next time I'll try to remember to take pictures so it will be more fun.
Bye bye!

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Kacia!!

i liked this, but the best part was "Good thing I'm not a mom yet because I learned that I can't open lids, and I can't wrap babies in blankets. But I can make them happy so I do alright as a babysitter."

Catie... glad to hear that you're enjoying babysitting. It's tons of fun and every kid is soo different!

Yeah, you're swaddling skills need some major work. ha ha

I'll have to remember your trouble with lids and remove any lids from baby food jars and such. :) ha ha

Thanks again... you helped us have a great night!

P.S. The Opry was a fun little show where a bunch of old people and Bryan performed. Mostly Karaoke, but Bryan played the piano.
