Halloween Party

November 1st was our Halloween party that Andrea and I planned.

I was in the bathroom finishing getting ready and I heard Bro. Jim and Sis. Judy come in the house, then I heard a lot of laughing. I was thinking, "what is going on?" and when I walked out I saw their costumes. They were both pirates, and really funny.

Bro. Jim was Sis. Judy's wench.

It was awesome =D

Andrea bought this ghost pirate thing for the outside of our door and it is sound activated. Here's a video of what it sounds like. This is the thing that scared my mom the night we were decorating. She knew it was up, but I guess she forgot and when she opened the door it made noise and she jumped. (It's sorta long)

Bryan's a scarecrow.

Uncle Bob and Aunt Vicki are tired hunters. They have slippers on.

I'm Little Red Riding Hood.

Jeff's a pirate.

Matt's a mad scientist.

My mom's a butterfly.

Stephanie's a tiger. Sis. Shannon painted Stephanie's face. I think she did an awesome job.

My dad's a painter.

Bro. Tony's a clown. He wanted to be a scary clown but for some reason it didn't work out so he was a regular one. I think he succeeded as a scary clown though lol.

Andrea's a pirate.

Bro. Aaron and Carson were fishermen. Carson's so cute =D

They had little fish hooked to their pole.

Sis. Ashley's a pirate.

Josilyn's a bumble bee. She was so cute, when my dad was taking this she was moving a lot and it looked like she was trying to fly.

A lady at my dad's work dressed her dog as a pirate and my dad used the picture of it to put on the wall since it's a pirate themed party. You can see it on the left side of the wall.

Andrea had Matt and Ben put leaves all over the porch. She did it the last time we had a Halloween party. It looks cool.

It looked like that on both sides of the porch.

Andrea also had a treasure chest in the house.

This video could be a little loud so don't have your volume up too high.

It's just a little video of the party when some pictures were being taken. Towards the end of this video you see Sis. Shannon get in the picture too and she's holding Carson's fish in her mouth, like he caught a catfish.

In the beginning of the party Bro. Tony was acting like a clown and he kept doing this goofy laugh and saying cheesy jokes. It was funny. He also would bug us in a playful way, so he played the part very good.

This video could also be a little loud. It's also kind of dark. Stephanie was trying to make Josilyn laugh. I think she laughed a couple of times, but she mainly just smiled.

We talked for a while in the beginning and took a lot of pictures.

Bryan was telling me (Little Red Riding Hood) that instead of a wolf after me, it should be a scarecrow.

You can't see it, but, Bro. Tony is looking at Josilyn with a creepy look. I'm surprised she didn't get scared or anything.

He's eating a huge gummy krabby patty.

My dad called me Scary Red Riding Hood.

Ben said he was sleeping for the picture because Shaggy is always tired.

My dad said that Matt looks like an Iron Chef.

Sis. Shannon had some fruit candy, a gummy krabby patty, I think a few other things, and a piece of broccoli on her plate, and Bro. Aaron saw it and said, "you're eating healthy" being sarcastic because she had all this candy and one piece of broccoli. Then he was like, "you have the food pyramid. You've got your fruit, your meat (krabby patty), and your vegetables." I think she had one or two more things and he listed those. It was funny.

We did a pumpkin carving game. Each team could choose to carve whatever they wanted. You had one dice and had to roll a 1 first, once you rolled a 1 then you start to carve the pumpkin while everyone else passes the bowl with the dice and tries to get 2. When that person gets 2 then they take over and carve the pumpkin. Then you have to roll a 3, then 4, etc.

Here were the teams:

Team 1: Bro. Jim, Bro. Aaron, Sis. Ashley, and Sis. Michele was sitting by them but she was holding Josilyn for Sis. Ashley.

Team 2: Aunt Vicki, Matt, Cheree, and Sis. Judy.

Team 3: Uncle Bob, Jeff, and Sis. Shannon.

Team 4: Bro. Tony, Ben, Bryan, and Stephanie.

I held Carson for Sis. Shannon. I didn't play because I was the judge with my mom.

It looks like I'm holding a doll, haha.

Carson started crying and my mom took him from me. I think she wanted an excuse to hold him or something.

Here are the pumpkins each team carved.

Team 1's pumpkin.

Team 2's. They carved a bat. The part in the middle of the two missing chunks is the bat. When my dad first saw the pumpkin he thought it was a cyclops.

Team 3's.

I don't know which pumpkin team 4 carved. The one Ben told me was the one that team 1 did, so we got mixed up. So here are three pictures that team 4 could have carved.

After that game we played another one where you had to try to match a lot of pirate words to their meaning. I forget which team won though. I was doing something during that game so I didn't really know what was going on.

But I'll tell you all the pirate words and their meaning.

1. Savvy - Ok or understand

2. Beauties - The best possible pirate address for a woman

3. Careen - Cleaning a ship's hull of barnacles, seaweed and marine worms by beaching it and leaning it over to one side

4. Galley - The kitchen of a ship

5. Pillage - To take booty; plunder, loot

6. Lubber - A poor seaman

7. Avast - "Hold fast". Stop and give attention. It can also be used in place of, "Whoa! Get a load of that!" "Check it out" or "No way!" or "Get off!"

8. An'ye may lay t'that! - "You betcha!"

9. Plunder - To rob openly and by force (as in a raid)

10. Lass - A name for a woman, usually more polite and romantic

11. Wench - Woman, girl, waitress. It can also mean peasant girl

12. Swaggy - A ship ye be intendin' to loot!

13. Lily-Liver - Faint o' heart

14. Booty - Anything of value a pirate can plunder

15. Jolly Roger - The pirate flag which had many variations, but the most common design was the skull and cross bones. It was also known as Captain Death among pirates

16. Scallywag - A scoundrel

17. Black Spot - To be placin' this is to be markin' someone for death

18. Gold Doubloon - Gold coin minted by Spain or Spanish colonies, worth about seven weeks pay for an average sailor

19. Landlubber - An exceptionally ignorant seaman

20. Davy Jones's Locker - Where the souls of drowned pirates go

21. Prize - A captured ship

22. Smartly - To do something quickly

23. Show a Leg! - Phrase to wake up a sailor

24. Commandeering - To steal a ship; to take over

25. Bilge - The lowest part of the ship

26. Colors - The pirate flag, with many variations. Designed to strike terror into your opponent, many times they would not even fight back, immediately surrendering

27. Swashbucklin' - Fightin' and carousin' on the high seas!

28. Arrr! - Like "Aloha," means variously, "yes," "I agree," "I'm happy"

29. Sprogs - Raw, untrained recruits

And that's all we had.

Bro. Tony took off his makeup because it was warm inside and his makeup was running down his face.

After that game it was around 9:00 PM and many had to go home. We had one last game though, which was our treasure hunt and a few stayed to do that. The people who stayed were Sis. Michele, Cheree, Bryan, Stephanie, and Jeff. Matt, Ben, and my mom did it too. Andrea and I watched everyone and my dad took pictures.

Andrea and I made up everything but I wrote out all the clues, and tried to sound like the characters that were speaking. We used characters from Treasure Planet, Pirates of the Caribbean, Scooby Doo Pirates Ahoy, VeggieTales Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, Spongbob, and Peter Pan. I'll write the clues down first, along with pictures of the locations, then I'll show pictures of us doing the hunt. We also had items in the game that they got from some of the characters.

B.E.N. - "I am so glad to see you! Have you seen my memory? I can't remember anything, except that Captain Flint hid his treasure on Treasure Planet. Billy Bones can help you. He's at the Benbow Inn by a big fake looking rock at Treasure Island. Before you go, can I have a hug? I'm a huggy person!"

Billy Bones - "Ahoy ye ladds an' lasses. Fine day wer' ha'in. Huh? Oh this? This be me Star Map. You can ha'e it. It'll take ya tuh Rupert Garcia. He be at Open Sea in front of an old shed at Bermuda Triangle."

Rupert Garcia - "Hi there. Nice map you've got. May I see it? Hmm this shows that it leads to The Heart of the Triangle in a fence area by a big round black thing in Bermuda Triangle where Captain Skunkbeard is."

(Sis. Michele was laughing at the clue "big round black thing") because it's obviously the trampoline (Bermuda Triangle is in the fence where the trampoline is) and she was like, "big round black thing, a.k.a. the trampoline" while laughing.)

(Jeff was reading this and everyone was laughing because it was hard to understand Scooby. It was funny listening to them. I would have filmed it if it weren't so dark and our video camera wasn't ready)

They were laughing while reading this because there were so many mermaids talking.

Captain Hook - "Mm yes. He's at the Forest by a place with lots of vegetables in Treasure Island."

Bryan and Stephanie liked the "mm yes" part. Stephanie read it in a funny way.

B.E.N. - "Hey, you found my memory card! Now I remember everything! I remember how to get to Treasure Planet! Go to the Portal near a big tree by the road and it has a mailbox by it in Treasure Island, it will lead you to Treasure Planet!"

That was the end of the treasure hunt. The treasure was chocolate coins.
