Wildlife Refuge

Yesterday around 12:00 pm my parents took Ben, Andrea, and I to a wildlife refuge. It was more like a hike to us though since we didn't see any animals. Actually, we saw part of them once in a while. We also saw something that looked like a bear claw mark on the tree. We don't know for sure though. There were two trails to take. One was for seeing birds mainly, and the other had more of bobcats and bears. Ben and I wanted to see the bobcats and bears, but my mom said she'd probably freak out if she saw a bear so we went to the safer one. Here are some pictures.

Pretending that we're scared.

My dad had us get sticks in case there were bears, which personally, I don't think that'd protect us from a bear but we got one cause he told us to. Ben found this big stick, which you can't see that well in this picture cause it blends in with the background.

This picture is kind of disturbing lol. They're pretending they're scared.

Something's attacking Ben from above.

Andrea and I were passing this area and then we saw something standing and it looked like it was staring at us. We couldn't tell if it was part of a tree, or an animal cause it was far away. I did take a picture but it's blurry, I'll still show you.

See, lookie. It kinda looks like an animal huh? I'm thinking it was because when we passed that part again we didn't see that there.

That is the weirdest tree I've seen.

That's a weird looking tree too.

Andrea was "sneaking" around cause she heard something (this didn't actually happen, we're pretending) But it's too bad cause she was louder in person. Ah well.

We did find a "Neb" though. They're also known as "Ben."
Along the way we'd pick a ton of raspberries. They were really good :D
Instead of water breaks (since we didn't have any) we had berry breaks.

Andrea thought this leaf looked like the leaf off the movie Land Before Time.

Now that I see it, they look nothing alike.

See that's the mark we saw. We concluded it's either from a bear, or an axe. I'd like to think it was from a bear though. It seems kinda weird for a person to be like, "I want to randomly hit this tree a few times with an axe."

She's making a duckie face and she's wearing Ben's duck hat.

Who'd even want to go beyond that sign? It's just thorns.

We got back in the car since Ben scared all of the animals away, and drove to this other place called Beaver's Pond. We didn't see anything there either because it was getting late and it would have taken too long to reach our destination. So we're going to try again later. It was really cool scenery though.

Well....this part wasn't cool. But when we got into the forest it was cool.

Ok here is the forest part.

I think this looks cool even though it's blurry. It's actually cool because it's blurry.

We headed back and went home. Then we had Andrea and Jeff over for dinner before he had to go to work.

Wow that seems like a pretty nice little trip. Hopefully next time you can see more animals.

They were black berries xP
Ha ha.

I hate it how you can see things better in person. Like me standing beyond the sign, you can hardly tell in a picture, and the sign right by the black berry bushes, it looks like they are a way off in the pic. Oh well, good enough, since we couldn't help it.
